The Legacy
Cool-It Heating & Air started in 2003 when Vaughn Hoehn moved to Sandpoint after years as a journeyman in the Tri-Cities. Recognizing a need for skilled refrigeration and HVAC services in Bonner and Boundary Counties, Vaughn set out to serve the community with integrity and expertise.
The company grew into a trusted heating and air business, building lasting relationships with local homes and businesses. Even during the 2008 recession, Vaughn and his team stayed committed to serving their community.
In 2012, Vaughn met his wife, Lisa, and together they built a loyal, long-term team. Their success stems from faith and dedication. As Lisa says, “There’s no ‘Cool-It’ without God.”
Vaughn reflects on the company’s mission:
“Being the heroes when people need us—saving a restaurant from losing food or making sure an elderly neighbor has heat in winter. That’s what it’s all about.”
Lisa adds, “We love our employees and our customers. The relationships we build make this work meaningful.”
In 2022, the Hoehns retired, leaving the company in the capable hands of General Manager Jon Fifield. Jon is committed to continuing Cool-It’s legacy of trusted service, faith-driven values, and community care—ensuring homes and businesses in Spokane and North Idaho stay comfortable year-round. With a strong team of experienced technicians and new talent, Jon and the Cool-It crew are dedicated to providing reliable, high-quality service and maintaining the personal connections with customers that have made Cool-It a trusted name for over 20 years.
